It's a pillow, it's a pet....

It's a PILLOW PET! Seriously, I really don't like that jingle. Ever since that annoying infomercial showed up between kid shows on TV my kids have been prancing around singing it. For like the last 6 months we have been singing it! PJ has begged and begged for one. Then he saw them at Super Day and said no (nicely) and moved on. Then his cousin got one for her birthday a few weeks ago and he was stuck on that thing and has pulled it out multiple times when we have gone over to play since then. He REALLY wants this toy.
So last night Mickey and I took some time away (w/ the baby of course) and went to the fairgrounds to wander the vendors of Frontier Days (I have a weakness, I LOVE vendors!) seeing as it was the last night of the festivities. Well I successfully avoided purchasing Winston Spices, Tastefully Simple Mixes and this crazy cool ceramic plate that "grated your own spices for only $20" (you had to see this thing), and thousands of pieces of cool sliver jewelry and over priced western attire (ok THAT was not so difficult to avoid). But then, there were the Pillow Pets. Big ones, small ones, and some flattened into blankets. All for the same dumb TV offer but "no waiting, no shipping". Yes, for nearly an hour I debated with my husband on such an over priced (and possibly useless) investment for our kids And IF we got em, which ones would the kids want. Miah sang the jingle, didn't beg for the thing, but my kids don't share well so if one kid gets something, the other 'needs' one also. So the debate carried on and on. It was encouraged by the hyper sales girl w/ braces on her teeth (who during the debate told us she was 8 weeks pregnant and has never been SO MELLOW....lol). We caved and settled for a brown horse (would have rather gotten the frog but they were out) for PJ and a purple bunny for Miah. Of course they were both excited to get a cool new toy, PJ has already named his "Bulls eye" (toy story...) And Amiah just keeps telling me she has a purple bunny. Yes, they are STILL singing the stupid song. Only time will tell if we got our monies worth.... For now "it's a pillow, it's a pet, it's a pillow pet!" (Had to include a picture of the O-man. That's his cousin (3 weeks older), NOT a pillow pet ;o)

  1. Spunky saw the commercial about 6 months ago and had been BEGGING ever since. She finally got one for her birthday and told me, "Look, Mom! One kiss and you will fall in love!" She gave it a big smackeroo and then said, "I'm in love!" Then a few days ago she said to me, "Mom, did you know that this pillow pet is machine washable?" She is a little walking advertisement...
