Update...

Okay...it's been a week. A quick update on a few things (seeing as it's after midnight I gotta make this short! yeah right!). It's been a long week. I went to the Dr (finally!) on Monday and am really happy so far with the office I have chosen. The Dr was super nice and so was her nurse. Baby is growing right on schedule and I'm 1 cm dilated (sorry for those of you that think that might too much detail). I was super excited about that because I had been having "practice" contractions for a day or two before. When I was induced with PJ I was not even 1/2 cm dilated at 10 days prior to my due date and he fought us to stay inside. This one...is way more eager. She is certainly down in my pelvis and has officially started trying to crawl through my skin. I swear she bruised my liver today! I have been having contractions regularly, they usually start being consistant around 3 am and stop by 5 or so. On Thurs they were 5 min apart for 45 minutes and had me in tears. I was SO READY to make this happen and then they started to taper off and by 5, nothing. I did call the Dr about all the "eventful" things going on because it is concerning that I am only 35 weeks (today 35wks 6days) and they said that everything looks good and they won't try and stop me SO now I'm anxious to get this baby out and start the "regaining my body" procedure. I see the Dr again on Tues and I will be VERY surprised if I haven't progressed further. So keep an eye on this blog- my guess is there will be pictures of our little girl in the next few weeks!
Mickey starts his new job at Magic City tomorrow. He will be working in group homes until a promotion happens (they said this would probably only be a few months) or a better job comes along (we are still holding out on a few government jobs).
PJ has started putting words into sentences. FINALLY. However, his favorite is. "Stop!! NO NAP!" And he SCREAMS it. It's hard to keep a straight face because I'm just so proud of his language skills improving. He also has discovered the beauty of names and that EVERYONE has one. PJ has an amazing memory and remembers people fairly quickly after meeting them. He does love to say "mom" alot. We play a version of "Marco-Polo" now where if I am in a room he can't see me he'll go "mom?" and I"ll say, "PJ?" and then we go back and forth til he finds me. Sometimes he'll do it and keep running through the apartment hiding. It's fun.
So there is my "quick" update. I will keep you posted as things progress throughout the week!

  2. I know this sounds silly, but with my second baby, I would always say to myself "open cervix, open cervix" and then I would set little personal goals. By my first visit, I wanted to be dilated to a 4 and I was!!! I even went so far as to pick out the exact day I wanted to go into labor and I did it! I had my little boy on that exact day. It's weird how the mind affects the body. Try it and let me know how it goes!
