Okay. I feel I can officially post this blog without fears of things changing. Yes, the rumors are true. We are moving!
North Carolina has been a very interesting experience for us the last year. We moved here with the understanding Mickey would be completing graduate school while working as an athletic trainer. But big surprise, the Lord had other things in store for us. While majority of the last year has been filled with many trying and humbling experiences there are many things we have learned. I could talk for hours and hours about what we have learned since arriving in Shelby, North Carolina. But what it boils down to is our time here is finished. In March when we made the decision to put grad school and the GA position aside for a while we prayed and felt strongly that we needed to remain here. We thought "okay, we can finally start trying to get comfortable" and prepared ourselves to be here another year or so. Well, the Lord thought otherwise. Towards the end of June we started getting the impression that we needed to return to Cheyenne, Wyoming. Now, this is where my family lives. And most of you know, I love my family but have never really DREAMED of living in the same town as my parents (no offense mom and dad) plus we've never been big fans of wind and snow. So we were thinking maybe we needed to come out for a visit. But as things began to progress it was soon impressed upon us that no, we are to move there. So yes, at 30 weeks pregnant (will be 32 when we move) we are packing up and heading west (again). Things are quickly (almost scarily) falling into place. I am excited to be close to my sisters and Mickey's brothers etc. again. PJ will have 6 cousins in the same town to play with. The job opportunities are beginning to flow in (now begins the interviewing process) and the Lord's plan is beginning to reveal itself (we're pretty sure anyway). It's amazing how the Lord works.
So here's the time line we are looking at: PJ and I will fly to Denver, CO next week and stay with my sister for a week or two while we wrap up apartment hunting/lease signing (oh joy!). Mickey's brother, Jon, will be flying out here on August 1st and will help finish packing/cleaning/loading the truck and then he and Mickey will drive our life out to Wyoming on the 2nd.
There are alot of unknowns at this point, but the Lord has already blessed us so much. We are sad to leave the friends we have made and the nice weather NC has to offer but are excited to be back within arms reach of our family. We will post more as plans unfold and things pick up pace. For now, looks like we're coming home.
Good for you! I'm glad you spent the time in Shelby, even if it wasn't the greatest, just so we got to meet. Good luck with the move, and I certainly hope you guys get to be more comfortable!
