What a week!

Gosh I cannot believe just how quickly time is flying. It was moving fast before, but it is really picking up speed! May is almost over and summer is about in full force! Our apartment complex has an outdoor pool that opens one week from today and we are counting the days! I'm so excited for PJ to get in the water and swim and I'm ready to be able to get some cool-down time. I'm getting nervous about the 110 degree days being pregnant. I overheat with just the hairdryer!! It will be a good summer though.

The Saturday before last we drove two-and-a-half hours to Ashboro to go to the famous NC Zoo. We were meeting my cousin and her family that live in Gibson, NC. We were so excited to see them and go see the animals and everything and when we pulled up to the gate there was a HUGE line of cars and one Zoo person talking to each one. After a few minutes we noticed all the cars turning around and leaving! When we got up to the front we discovered that they had a water main break and had to shut down the Zoo. We were pretty disappointed. We did get two free tickets however so someday this year when we get around to going back, we get in the park free. (Wha hoo.) So we met my cousin and her family at the I hop and had breakfast instead.
Mother's day was nice. We went to church and for once enjoyed most of it (our ward is very...different...to say the least). We had dinner with a new family, the Crawfords, that recently moved in. They both graduated from BYU and he works as a construction manager out here. They have three kids that were just fabulous with PJ and he just loves them. He is definitely ready to get out of nursery and in with the big kids in Primary. PJ and Mickey got me the first 4 books for the Harry Potter series (I'm a huge fan but have the last 3 books so they completed my collection) and PJ made me this cute candle holder in preschool with his hand print on it. My first homemade mothers day gift from my little boy...I got choked up. It is very special. I also couldn't help but show off his favorite thing to play with at pre school. He was chasing one of his teachers in it and I caught this video. I love at the end how he waves at her through the windshield (sorry about my voice on the video. She was talking to me and you can only hear me)

So this last Saturday PJ and I did a donut run for breakfast. Didn't make him get dressed before we left and it was so cute. He ended up eating two donut TOPS. It was so funny. That kid was covered in icing, even got it all over his ears!

So there is the most exciting moments in our family since our last post. Nothing too adventurous or thrilling. But great none-the-less.

  1. Don't you love the little home-made Mother's Day gifts? Its almost like they actually are saying thank-you (instead of just having fun making a mess).
