One of my favorite things about being in NC is the LONG growing season! Strawberries have been very affordable and perfect for a few months now. There are local farmers that have big fields of strawberries that open them for picking to the public. You just buy your bucket and go at it! We went with our friends, the Hartman's, that moved in a couple months ago to an apartment a few doors down. PJ was more excited to be tromping around in fields and eating berries than he was to actually PICK them but we really had fun! They are only going to last for til the end of May I guess and then Strawberry Picking Season is over :o(. There is another field about 45 minutes from here that makes homemade strawberry ice cream and everything that we are going to do for an FHE here in a few weeks. Anyway, here are a few of my quick pictures. Our friend, Sara, took some more so I will post them when I get them from her too. The above picture is "Brutis" the strawberry field owners Dog. I couldn't resist getting a shot of him too!
