Long Time No Post

Gosh it's been a while since I have posted! I just cannot even wrap my brain around just how quickly this month has gone for us! Talk about CrAZinesS! So lets see:

We had some fundraisers for PJ's preschool, Stride, this month. It's a publicly funded preschool and provides services to children with disabilities (although they have "typical" children that can attend also). The first was the Men's Culinary Cup Cook-off. That was so much fun. They had a HUGE silent auction and then there were all of these male groups that cooked various foods. It was so much fun. They held it at the Taco John's Event Center here and there were just so many people! My sister Beth joined Mickey, Amiah and I while my other sister, Becca, watched PJ for us. It really was neat (sorry no pictures). They had their largest fundraising year ever, over $30,000! (while that may seem like alot, that just a drop in the bucket for what they provide to our kids!)

The next fundraiser was the Stride Ride two weekends ago
The Stride Ride is alot like a relay for life. Only it's with Bikers. All of the Bikers in town get donations to "Ride" for Stride on this day. They have a huge bike rally at Mavricks and then with police escorts they ride to Stride where friends and family are waiting for them. We had so much fun. My sister, Beth, came with us and so did our friends Barbara and her kids. (no picture of them sorry). There were just so many bikers it was emotional (yes, I got choked up to see HUNDREDS of bikers riding for such a great cause). It was loud and smelled like exhaust but it was just moving to see so many just keep coming and coming! When they had arrived they had raised just over $13,000 so far. I'm not sure what the end result was. How exciting though!

Other RanDoMNesS:

My sister's girls have UW cheerleader outfits and matching pom-poms. They make a cute wig!
However they DO create a bit of static....
My friend, Raven, collects Superman stuff with more passion than PJ does. We went to her house for the first time in a long time and he was just so excited to see it all. He settled in on her couch with Superman blankets and lunchboxes and action-figures. I think he would have stayed there all night if I had let him!
We went to a birthday party for one of PJ's friends, Emily, that he goes to church with. While playing with the toys we found this fun pair of sunglasses and Amiah thought she was so cool. Never tried to take them off either (and YES! She finally has long enough hair in the back I can get one little piggy-tail!)
PJ had so much fun at the party that he was curled up on the couch and OUT before I could even get his coat off! Thanks for a great party Rachael!
And last but certainly not least: my favorite picture of the month. We were at my mom's on Sunday and Mickey sat down in my dad's "big man" chair. There is this aura around this chair that when a man sits in it, he totally falls asleep. Well Mickey sat down to rock with Amiah and then PJ climbed up. They fell asleep and she crabbed the remote and started changing channels on the big screen. I love the little smug look on her face! It's like she planned it or something!

  1. The picture of Amiah with the pom pom on her head is so cute. I also love how smug she is with the remote--a kids' greatest delight, IMO.

  4. LOL. I LOVE that last picture. What a smart girl she is. Sad that school is out for the summer in just a couple days. We love Stride, too.
