Happy 5th Anniversary to US!!!
My how time flies....Taking an idea from a friends blog, instead of rehashing our love story again (pretty sure I've done that a few times on here now...) I thought I'd share some of the major events of the last 5 years!
- Married in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple in American Fork, UT on June 26, 2004
- Moved into our first tiny and trashy apartment in Laramie where we both continued our educations (over the next 3 years we are in Laramie we move 4 times)
- Our son, Presley James "PJ" joined our family December 29, 2005
- Welcomed home his parents from their 18mo mission in South Africa
- Heather earns her 1st Mary Kay car and becomes a Sales Director
- Graduate from UW both with B.S degrees in Kinesiology and Health Promotion (Mickey's emphasis is Athletic Training, mine is Nutrition and Exercise Physiology)
- We begin the trial of watching our little boy struggle with a body that is not functioning the way it's supposed to
- Experience the passing of Heather's Grandpa Cook
- 6 weeks later experienced the tragic passing of her Aunt's companion, Dale
- Moved to Shelby, North Carolina for Mickey to attend graduate school (which begins the most difficult year of our lives together)
- Experienced the tragic passing of Mickey's sister, Becky, passing at the age of 39
- Reality sinks in that PJ is not the "typical" child and we begin the search of figuring out what is going on and how to deal with it....
- We discover we are pregnant again with a little girl
- Heather steps down as an MK Sales Director to focus on the family issues at hand
- NC is a bust and Mickey discovers AT is NOT his passion
- We decide to cut our losses in the East and move back to Cheyenne, WY on faith
- Mickey begins work with Magic City Enterprises where he is promoted 2X in 9 months
- Amiah Rae joins our family with a smile on her face!
- PJ makes remarkable progress with the help of therapists, teachers and the specialists and Denver Childrens
- Heather starts working with the WIC program as a Lactation Counselor as well as beginning her MK business again
- We hit our 5 year anniversary and realize we are so very blessed and can't wait to see what the next 5, 10, 30, and 50 years hold in store for us! (as well as a celebration at the Melting Pot in Ft. Collins)
Congrats! You've been through a lot in your 5 years. Enjoy the melting pot--I LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteWell, NC might have been a bust but at least you met us!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 5 years, and I'm so glad PJ is doing well with his therapists!
Congrats!! I love the highlights of your relationship. What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Could you e-mail or Facebook me your Mary Kay site? My sister and I need to order a few thing!
What a beautiful blog. Isn't it great how you get to go through life with a great guy and family?!
