Lots of Pictures!

I can't believe it's been over 2 weeks since I've posted!! Things are just nuts! That's okay though, it makes life more exciting when things get a little busy, wouldn't you agree???
So I've taken about a million pictures the last few weeks so I thought it was about time I posted a few updated ones. These are just from my cell phone, so nothing too high quality or impressive. I have some cuter ones on our digital camera but I'll post those later so there aren't literally a million on here. I also added some of the funnest enjoyable short videos I got too. So silly. This first one is Amiah chatting. She is quite the chatter box (gee I wonder who she inherited that from... :o)

This next video is of Amiah in her most favorite entertainment spot: her Jumperoo. She jumps so hard and fast and constant. It's so funny. You can just see the pleasure she gets from it on her face! Not to mention she has such strong legs and overall muscle control. I fear that as soon as she gets more core muscle strength she'll be off crawling. She is sitting up on her own now and rolls around the room to get closer to things she wants to hold or eat. When she's on her tummy (or back) she can turn herself around to position closer to see or get her hands on something she wants. Plus, she's getting a fun fuzzy head of hair and has this soft little "tuft" at the crown that is almost long enough to get in a mini ponytail with a small enough rubber band. It would also appear as though she has inherited Mickey's widows peak. What a blessing-she'll never need bangs! Okay so here she is:

So PJ gets a little jealous of his sister. Particularly when she appears to be getting more attention than he is or having more fun. Last week I had just put Amiah down for a nap and sat down at the computer to check my email. A few minutes later I here her Jumperoo playing music and then I hear PJ in a panicked voice saying, "Help me..." I turned around to find this:

So here are some of my favorite pictures captured over the last two weeks also:

Sitting up tall

Enjoying the nice weather

Trying baby food (sweet potatoes) for the first time
Playing with his new cape that his Granny sent
Yes there is a baby in there. She loves to sleep in absolute
darkness so if it's too bright she finds a way to get
the blanket over her face

Playing with a bag (bad mommy...) she found on PJ's
bed the second I layed her down (she is very grabby)
I got a little picture crazy this afternoon after naps!

She is really trying to give him a kiss but it looks like
they are sharing secrets doesn't it?
My favorite of this bunch

I received a call from the WIC office this week (if you don't know what that is WIC stands for "Women, Infant, and Children and provides nutritional assessments and food for women, infant and children that fall within a certain income guideline. The funds for this program come through the state but every state has a program and majority provide the same benefits within the same flexible income guidelines. They provide limited foods like eggs, milk, cereal, juice, beans, peanut butter etc.). I interviewed a few months ago with them because they had asked if I would apply to assist with nutritional assessments etc on a part time basis. I interviewed and when they finally got back to me they told me they couldn't hire me because the state wouldn't budge on the fact that my degree was not in nursing or nutrition (it's in Kinesiology and Health Promotion). They said they were really disappointed that the state wouldn't let them hire me and they really were hoping to work with me. Anyway, they called this week and asked me to become a Lactation Peer Counselor. Now many of you know how passionate I am about breastfeeding so I got super excited. The pay is not great, and the hours are few. But it's a program that helps breastfeeding moms support new or soon to be breastfeeding mommies. and their babies. It's all on my own schedule and I can bring Amiah with me. I'll also get to start teaching breastfeeding classes this summer. The state will pay for my certification to become an actual Lactation Counselor (if a workshop is offered in our area while I am working still working with WIC) and the hours would count towards the internship hours necessary to become a Certified Lactation Consultant (it's a masters degree apparently). Anyway, it's a great opportunity to work with more women and assist and promote an amazing cause. Something I would do purely for volunteer but hey, if they want to pay me, I won't stop them.

  2. Oh, my gosh!! My kids do the same thing with our Jumperoo!! Brayden loved to jump in it so much that I thought he'd give himself shaken baby syndrome. Of course, Chase saw him in the jumper and then wanted a turn for himself. I have almost those exact same pictures with my kids. Thanks for the new posts!

  3. Thats amazing. Congratulations! I didn't realize that they required a Masters for that but how awesome. I'd love to do that later on. I really appreciated the help of the LCs at the hospital with our first one. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
