This is a first for me. I have been looking at this blog for a while and I think it is about time I add my own feelings. For many years, so many people have expressed the desire to share the love they have for that special someone by "Shouting it at the top of the highest mountain." I guess they didn't have the luxury of the World Wide Web.
Back in 2002 when I ventured over to Laramie to begin my college education, I never planned on meeting a girl and completely falling for her. But it really didn't take long. My first class that semester was Human Anatomy. As I entered the large lecture hall and made my way to a seat, I looked down a few rows and to my left and there I saw a very familiar face. The face of a long time friesnd and the face of the woman that would eventually become my wonderful wife.
Perhaps we both had a little more growing up to do or maybe we just didn't want to admit the feeliings we had for each other, but it wasn't long before I was saying goodbye to her as she moved up to Idaho. After a few phone calls, we pretty much lost contact and continued living our lives.
It wasn't untill September of 2003 that I learned of her return to Cheyenne. I saw her at a dance in Colorado of all places. I asked her for her number, but never called her...
The following January was different. Once again there was a chance meeting at a church dance in Laramie. We danced, had fun, made plans to meet the next day, and then she left. The plans included her coming over to Laramie the next day, but those plans fell through. I was not about to let her get away again, so I got in the car and drove to Cheyenne.
I won't go too far into details, but we had a good time that night! I knew there was something special about her. She was fun, exciting and incredably good looking! I could only dream at that time that I would end up marrying her. Today, more than five years later, she is still fun, exciting and incredably good looking!
Five years, two kids, two college educations and one long cross country move and here we are today. We may not be rich by worldly standards, but I consider myself the most wealthy man on earth. I have the love of a wonderful woman, and that is better than all the riches of the world!
We have a lot of great memories from the last five years. Our first valentine's day together, 5 years ago, we spent our time in Denver going to the Cheesecake Factory. What I didn't think about was that EVERYONE in Denver was going to the Cheesecake Factory on Valentine's Day! It took us a few hours, but we finally got in and had a good time. There are so many other memories, all of which make me love this woman!
This is my mountain top. I want all the world to know just how much I adore my wife. Heather is a very loving and caring woman. There is nothing in this world that makes me feel the way she makes me feel. Everytime I come home and everytime I see her, I have those same feelings I had when I saw her in the Anatomy Lecture Hall in Laramie.
I love you, Heather! Thank you for all that you do!
Oh how sweet. You guys are great together!
