Hurr-ah to Mickey!

So apparently I don't have this mobile blogging down just yet. I wrote two and they never posted so this one will be covering lots!

A few weeks ago Mickey accepted a position as a Worker's Comp Claims specialist with the State of Wyoming. This is a huge blessing for so many reasons. Not only is it a significant pay increase but it means much more job security, fantastic benefits, less work place drama (we hope) and a foot in the door with the state. While this may not be Mickey's "ideal" position, it opens up the opportunity to move into other departments as they become available later! We are so excited for him and all this means to our family! Yay! He starts July 1st. Whoa!

Next: Mickey was appointed to serve on the Governor's Planning Council for Developmental Disabilities. This too is a big deal. He applied for this appointment months ago and the letter confirming his position came the day after the job offer! While it's mostly a volunteer position he will have a say in what happens with rules, policies regulations etc for those DD in the state of Wyoming. Something we are both passionate about. Mickey is very talented with people from all demographics but particularly with this population. This position will allow him to stay in this field somewhat despite the job change. We are not sure exactly how the two will work together but I am sure it will be great. I am SO proud of him for this achievement and I know he feels so honored to be given this opportunity.

And finally: today is our 6th Wedding Anniversary! I can't believe how fast it has all gone. Every day we still learn something new about each other. While the last few years have been extremely tough at times, the journey is what matters and so far, there has been much joy in the journey. Here's to another year of love, laughter, and learning together. I love you babe!
