Amiah Rae was born September 18, 2008 weighing in at 6lb 8oz and was 20in long. She never cried, no, but she SCREAMED at the top of her lungs so loud! She grabbed everything she could get those little fingers on and everyone in the room just giggled because no one had ever heard a baby SCREAM and not cry. Took her about 3 days to finally cry for us. It's still not a very common thing for her to cry, the screaming however, is all too common.

She proved herself to be ahead of the game, social smiling at a week old (the dr confirmed this at 2 weeks), nursing like a pro from the beginning and gaining weight quickly. She rolled over for the first time at 4 months, sat up at 6 months and then FINALLY "resorted" to crawling at 10 months (I say resorted because she kept trying to walk and then finally one day crawled like she'd known how to do it all along and was sick of not getting anywhere walking).
Also at 10 months she said her first word, which to no ones surprise was , "Hi!" (she is so very social!) As of her 1st birthday she can say, "Hi", "Bye", (waves with those) "No", "MaMa" "Dada", "Baby", "Puppy", "Kitty", "Pickle "(random??), "thank you", "mine", "ruff ruff", "uh-oh", "that" and "what's that?" (she points her little finger with those two when she wants something or wants to know what something is) and "Hi Baby!". Amiah will also nod if she likes something or if you ask her a "yes" question like "Do you like that?" and she'll nod for yes if she does. And of course she's constantly chattering her own little language (gee how'd I get a talker...) She is an EXCELLENT communicator! While she is not quite walking on her own yet it's just a matter of time as she is already standing by herself, cruising furniture and laps like a pro and pushes everything from baby strollers to chairs around to get to where she wants to be. She's already trying to CLIMB on everything. She figured out yesterday she could climb in her little rocking chair and PJ's little camping chair by herself and was very proud of herself when she accomplished these tasks!

Amiah has great big blue eyes and redish blonde hair that I swear grows half an inch every day! She has 4 teeth and two more very close to breaking through. She is not a picky eater at all but hates being fed because SHE has to do it. She also likes to feed others and throw her leftovers to the dog. She is super friendly and catches everyones attention wherever we go. She adores her big brother and does everything possible to mimic him and keep up with him. He loves her as well although he still "abuses" her on a regular basis. She is still very much a mama's girl and loves to be held and cuddled. She is very mild mannered and patient (especially around others) and can be quite silly. She loves to laugh. We are all so very blessed to have her as part of our family and truly cannot imagine life without her!!
