Craziness update

Oh my goodness I am so slacking on keeping my blog updated!!! I do have to say though I've been having majore issues with mine though. Anyone else having problems?? My backrounds seem to be having problems loading no matter where I get the codes or how I put them on the layout. And my "live feeds" don't seem to be working. So I will be revamping a few things. If you notice that I don't get your blog address on my side bar please let me know and give me the address again so I can make sure to add it to my list and be able to follow it! Okay, so here is the latest and greatest news for our household:
  • We had our first big snow storm since moving back to Cheyenne. PJ had fun trying out his new snow pants for the first time and building a snow man (we never did get a picture of the weird looking thing...). It was a lot of fun!

  • We have started becoming pretty good friends with one of PJ's preschool teachers. She has a son that is now 13 and has been trying to weed out some of his younger-year toys. Well, we inherited two plastic totes of Hot Wheels tracks and accessories. It was perfect timing because we are just getting to the end of yet another snow storm and he finally had something "new" to keep him occupied today. It was also fun to sit around and put it together as a family and watch how differently boys look at things and play with them than girls do (my set up of the track would not have been nearly as cool as Mickey's turned out).
  • Life is nuts as usual. I finally got the contract to work with WIC as a Lactation Peer Couselor and should be officially starting that soon. I'm so excited about that!

  • Easter was a lot of fun! We went to St. George, UT and spent Thurs-Sunday morning with my in-laws there and celebrated my mother-in-laws 69th birthday with her. She recieved a Wii Fit (she had been waiting for it for a while) and it was so cute to hear her giggling while doing it! We also went to a quilt show on Saturday and she bought Amiah this adorable purple flower head band (which would be insanely easy to make. It looks like they cut the leg off a pair of white tights, sewed it into a headband and glued the fake flower to the top) and I couldn't help get a few good cell-phone pix while she was hamming it up for me:

  • We also did a little Easter shopping and had fun hiding eggs for PJ to find. He still doesn't quite get the "Easter Bunny" concept but he certainly understands toys and candy! He particularly couldn't get enough of the 2-inch high Batman toy with a cape. Best $5 we ever spent because that little thing kept him entertained the entire 12 hour car ride home!!!

  • I get an email about once a month now from a baby site informing me of what developements I should be seeing in my baby for the coming months. Amiah will be 7 months old on the 18th (oh my gosh I can't believe it is already been that long!) so I got an email yesterday saying that she SHOULD be sitting up now but still needs a little support and pillows around her to keep her balanced and protected if she falls. Funny thing: she's been sitting up on her own unsupported (or protected by a shell of pillows) for at least 6 weeks now. She calls me "Ma Ma" and cries and holds her arms out for me. When she sees Mickey she yells out "Da Da Da!!!" and now if she doesn't like something she goes "Na na Na!!!". I know that many times as a parent we dream that our children are saying our names so young, but she's always been ahead of the game. Social smiling at 1 week, now she's labeling people. It's so weird. Everyone that sees her is amazed by her abilities already so young. Both of our children attract so much attention for their good looks and charm, it's almost scary.

  • PJ has started hugging (more gently now) and KISSING strangers. Usually strange kids that let him get close enough but even a few adults now and then. He is become increasingly more talkative which I absolutely love. He has his own little phrases (like you know he REALLY adores you if he calls you "funny" so like his Uncle Jon all weekend he kept saying, "your so funny Unc-ow Jon!!!" or "Funny baby sister!!").

  • Mickey designed a weight loss program for his job, Biggest Loser style. They are doing it in one-month increments and this is the first month (the incentive: it costs $5 to join and then the person with the biggest percentage of weight loss that month gets the pot). So far he had 15 people plus himself (which means an $80 pot to the winner) sign up to participate and the their insurance company is getting on board. They are offering all who participate free blood screenings and physicals (free of even copay charges) and have said that hey realize the correlation between obesity and higher medical costs so if they notice that a participants costs are decreasing with their weight loss they will also decrease their overall premiums! Mickey (and I) are very proud of the effort he has put into this and the already success he is having this first month. This is also a huge incentive for both of us to lose the weight we have acquired. Maybe some day (you know...like 100 lbs from now) you'll get to see the before and after pictures.

Okay, I think thats all for the updates so far. Hope you all had a fantastic holiday weekend.
